An exquisite 'small-cabinet' display mineral specimen featuring gem Calcite on matrix eith a colourless - subtle beige colouration from Chenzhou, Hunan Province, China.
The main feature feature of the specimen is the unmissable, large, isolated optical crystal measuring 5.8cm in length, that's sits centrally on the matrix surrounded by an array of smaller crystals that completely cover the front face of the matrix. Throughout the specimen, each crystal displays gem-transparency and every face has a vitreous lustre. The large crystal 'glows' when backlit or under natural sunlight with rainbows dancing internally. The bifringent nature of the Calcite magnifies it's ability to refract the light it recieves, adding to the crystals 'glow'.
The specimen is glued to an acrylic base but this can be easily removed if required.
