Nothing epitomises an old English, classic mineral specimen more than the West Cumbrian Barytes that came from out of Frizington during the mid-to-late 19th & early 20th centuries.
This specimen of the aforementioned classic Cumbrian Baryte aandassociated Dolomite hails from the esteemed collection of the revered British mineral collector Richard Braithwaite (no. 69-23) and features sharply terminated, lustrous blocky crystals with a pale blue-yellow colouration that also appears red in areas where Hematite inclusions are concentrated. The Dolomite crystals provide a fair contrast of form, colour & texture.
The specimen comes with an old label handwritten by Richard as well as a 'Steetley Minerals' label.
